There's always lots going here at J.O. Combs Middle School. To help you keep up with it all, our Web site  provides both our online calendar (updated frequently) and copies of our monthly newsletters "Cougar News" (just click on the links to the right).

Be sure to check out our newsletters. You'll find our honor roll students, upcoming activities, information about our programs, and message from our Principal, and some great articles from our teachers about what's happening in each subject area.

Site Council

The Combs Middle School Site Council members are people who represent the school community – parents, faculty members, staff members, and administration. Site Council meetings take place monthly on a Monday afternoon (4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.) in the middle school conference room.

Members work to…

  • Enhance the four core philosophies of our school
  • Promote strong ties between school, home, community, and business
  • Provide opportunities for staff regarding the structure and improvement of instructional programs
  • Respect and accept individual uniqueness and cultural diversity through the development of a Professional Learning Community (PLC)
  • Foster an environment that is emotionally, physically, and mentally safe

The council currently has a vacancy for a parent from within the school community. If you would like to serve on the site council, please e-mail a letter of interest to Mr. Mauro. In your letter of interest, include information pertaining to your connection to the school community as well as the skills and/or experiences that you believe you would bring to the site council that would benefit our Cougar students.

Throughout the year, we will communicate council news and information in newsletters and on our Web site.
